What is Legacy Little Reader’s Giving Day?
A 24-hour giving opportunity on Thursday, May 20th to show your support of Legacy’s Little Readers literacy program. We know our generous community of supporters and friends is fully behind this program, and so our goal is to raise $50,000 on the day. Reaching this objective will allow us to purchase at least 20,000 books, which will help us get closer to our goal of providing books to 40,000 children in our community this year. We will be using #LLRGivingDay on social media to mark this occasion.
Who can participate?
Everyone can support Little Reader’s Giving Day by making a gift of any amount, or by inviting their friends and family to participate by making gifts themselves or helping spread the word about this important cause.
Why is Legacy’s Little Readers Giving Day so important?
At Legacy, we believe children should be healthy in body and mind, and our pediatric providers treat both when our youngest patients come in for well-child visits. To encourage both mental and physical growth, we created Legacy’s Little Readers, which provides an age-appropriate book to our pediatric patients (ages 6 months – 12 years old) at each well-child visit.
What is a Champion?
A Champion is someone who believes in the mission of Legacy’s Little Readers and is passionate about promoting our cause. Champions spread the word among their social networks to help garner support during #LLRGivingDay on May 20th. Champions can lend their time, energy, skills, and voices to our campaign because they believe in our work and values. They may have benefitted personally from Legacy, or seen others benefit from our work. One of the simplest ways Champions can help is by sharing and promoting the importance of our cause to others.
What type of gifts are accepted on Legacy’s Little Readers Giving Day?
Cash, checks, and credit cards can be used to make donations on or before May 20, 2021 at legacy.community/LLRchampions
If your employer has a matching gift program, these matching gifts will also be applicable on this day of giving.
